Product review
The action camera that can watch itself while it records. Who it makes sense for, what problem it actually solves, and when it is money wasted.

What it is
An action camera with a screen that turns towards you
The Ace Pro 2 is a single-lens action camera, built to record what is in front of you. Its own feature is the flip screen: you can see yourself while recording, like on a vlog camera, without adding an external monitor.
That changes the use. With a normal action camera you mount it and trust the framing is right; this one lets you check it on the spot. If you record talking to camera, it is the difference between reshooting and finding out in the edit.
What it does not do is 360. It does not choose the framing for you or cover every angle: you frame it, and if you get it wrong, you got it wrong. It is a different product decision, not a lesser version.
Fit
Buy it if — skip it if
The question is not whether it records well. It is whether you need to see yourself while you record.
It fits what you already do
You record talking to camera. Seeing yourself in the moment avoids the classic clip with your head cut off.
You want a file ready to publish. You leave with the shot you wanted, no reframing afterwards.
You shoot close and moving. The format rewards one well-made shot, not full coverage.
It does not fit
You want to pick the angle afterwards. That is a 360 camera: look at the Insta360 X4 or the X5.
You want the smallest possible thing. To wear and forget, the GO 3S wins on size.
You already own an action camera and framing is not your problem. Then the flip screen solves nothing for you.
The same reasoning in one place: the 360 and action camera comparison.
Budget
Accessories that are not optional in practice
The camera alone falls short as soon as you leave the desk tripod.
Microphone
If the use is talking to camera, audio matters more than the image. The internal mic is fine for ambience; for voice, an external one changes the whole result.
Mount and pole
For hand, backpack or handlebar. Pick the mount by where you will use it; a badly chosen mount stays in the drawer.
Dive case
Only if you go under. Check the official depth rating of that specific case before taking the camera down: do not assume it handles whatever you have planned.
